Why Do We Close Our Eyes To Pray

A few days ago I sat wondering, why people close their eyes when they pray. We are taught through religion that when we pray we are talking to god. However, when we talk to someone we usually will look at them directly. We are taught through various religions that god is in heaven. Well, as an answer to my inquiry, spirit gave me this thought.

We close our eyes, because we are going inwardly to meet our true self, our higher self. We shut our physical eyes in order to open our true eye. If god were somewhere outside of ones self, why then would we need to shut our eyes to meet them? Where do we find god? The answer is within our heart. "God is Love and Love is God".
