Focusing In On Abusive Relationships & Domestic Violence

According to statistics a woman is battered in the United States every 9 seconds. This does not include the women and men who are battered globally. The latest incident of abuse between two persons in a relationship that the media is having a frenzy with is as you should know by now Chris Brown and Rihanna. The question is not who threw the first hit, but knowing how to control our anger and when to walk away from a relationship. There are many who are speaking about the couple, but who is giving them sound advice without judgment?

As a survivor of domestic violence and abusive relationships I know through experience the scars that it leaves inwardly as well as outwardly. This is not based on age, because emotion and mind control are experienced by old and young, rich and poor. The pity is that while the abuse Rihanna experienced is all over the media. There is someone we know either they are family, a friend, an acquaintance or celebrity that is being abused on the constant.
